After more than two decades with Red Bull RacingCraig Skinner, lead designer, will leave the show on the eve of the 2026 season launch. Formula 1He joined Red Bull in 2006 after starting his career in Formula 1 with the Jordan team and WilliamsThe Briton initially held the position of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) specialist before being promoted to team leader in 2009. In 2018, he continued to climb the ranks, becoming deputy director of aerodynamics, then director of aerodynamics.
In 2022, Craig Skinner was appointed design director, reporting to French technical director Pierre Waché. The 2023 RB19, one of the Austrian team's most dominant cars, is largely attributable to him. The RB19 secured a double championship (Constructors' and Drivers' titles) that season, winning 21 of the 22 Grands Prix.

Over the past few seasons, the Austrian team has seen several of its iconic figures leave, such as Adrian Newey (now Team Principal of the team). Aston Martin), Jonathan Wheatley (Audi Team Principal) or Will Courtenay (Sporting Director of McLaren) and several engineers from Max VerstappenTeam principal Christian Horner was also dismissed after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July 2025. While neither the reasons for his departure nor his next destination are known, Craig Skinner is believed to have left of his own accord.

A rather surprising departure with an almost immediate effect in the murky world of Formula 1. Perhaps for personal reasons that we will know in due course... unless he is preparing to join the project that Christian Horner is working on!
