At Red Bull, there has been a flurry of activity in top management in recent months. The Austrian team has suffered a wave of departures of its key players – the latest being Gianpiero Lambiase, who is leaving for... McLaren — she doesn't intend to feel sorry for herself. The formation of Milton Keynes in parallel continues its recruitment in order to remain at the top of the sport, as Laurent Mekies explained to AUTOhebdo.
"The fact that Red Bull has lost a lot of talent in recent years is not something that can be denied," admits the team principal. "It's a fact. It's one of the performance indicators we've set for the project. We make no secret of our desire to have a greater capacity to retain our talent. And we also want to have an even greater capacity to attract talent in the future."

If this involves "To provide the best possible working environment for [its] employees so that they can express themselves to the best of their ability."The man from Tours had emphasized to us his desire to train and develop talent internally. This is what was done with Ben Waterhouse, who joined the Red Bull group in 2014 as deputy technical director of the Team Toro Rosso (former name of Racing Bulls. Ed.), before moving to Red Bull in 2017 as Director of Performance Engineering. The Briton has received a promotion, as announced by Red Bull on April 17, 2026: he has been appointed Director of Performance and Design Engineering. "with overall responsibility for the design and performance of the vehicle, reporting directly to the technical director Pierre Wache", according to the Milton Keynes press release.
This isn't the only notable move: Andrea Landi is also joining Red Bull. Like Ben Waterhouse before him, the Italian previously held the position of deputy technical director at Racing Bulls, after having been deputy director of vehicle performance at Ferrari. Landi will join Red Bull on July 1st as head of performance, reporting to Ben Waterhouse.
After losing some of its brains (Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley…), the Red Bull empire is launching its counter-attack.
