It has already been five years since Romain Grosjean is no longer a pilot of Formula 1In five years, the ecosystem of this sport has naturally evolved, although many faces remain the same as those from an era marking the end of a regulatory period. After five seasons at HaasThe Frenchman naturally retired after the terrible accident he suffered on the Bahrain circuit, but this did not prevent him from racing again a few weeks ago.

Indeed, the French driver had been invited to drive with Haas as part of a TPC (Test Previous Car) at the Mugello circuit. A sort of gift, a tribute paid by the American team to a driver who hadn't really had the chance to say goodbye on the track, this event remains etched in his memory. “I think one of the highlights of the year was clearly my return to Formula 1 with Haas,” he explained to Bein SportsIt was almost five years after my accident, and it was with most of the people who were there for our first race with Haas in 2016. It was actually the first family day organized by the team. So it was a very powerful feeling to be the first Haas driver to return to Mugello to drive the car. It was just a magnificent day. Not about racing or performance, but simply being with friends.

Grosjean is looking ahead to his future

Retired from Formula 1 since 2020, Romain Grosjean nevertheless raced in IndyCar After his departure from the world championship, the Frenchman, maintaining a special connection with the world of motorsport where he first made his mark, clearly remains very attached to those memories. So much so that the possibility of a return is now far from being ruled out by the driver.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever return to Formula 1, in one way or another. It’s a world I understand very well, one I know well. I’m lucky to have some very good friends who work in Formula 1. I do about six Grands Prix a year as a consultant for French television, which gives me the chance to see all my friends again. But it’s true that if, in the future, a good opportunity arises to take on an interesting role in a team, it’s something I’d like to do.” he admitted"It would be a great challenge, I think I could contribute something. I wouldn't say no."

Although his presence in a car While a return to the paddock isn't currently on the agenda, it could indeed be considered if a team were to express interest in him. In the meantime, Romain Grosjean remains available for a move, having already made an impressive 179 Grand Prix starts.

He still makes us laugh! As mediocre at commentary on Canal as he is behind the wheel, yet he had a good top speed (cf Lotus) but that was a long time ago.

A very average driver, except for testing the passive strength of F1 cars, converted into a commentator who only knows how to smile, I wonder what he could bring to a team.

Returning to F1 as a crash test dummies?? This guy has the most serious record of crashes (at least 80% of which were solely his fault)... We've never been able to find out the total amount, but with what he's wrecked, we could support an F1 team for a whole year... We need to stop with this driver; he wasn't exactly a natural to begin with, but now we really need to stop with him... Look elsewhere if you want a good developer.

It was not for nothing that she was called "the weeping woman".

The return of the Franco-Swiss driver to the F1 paddock, whatever role he is offered, suggests an imminent end to his career across the Atlantic!
