Russell believes in Mercedes for the rest of the season  

Mercedes Benz had managed to come back strongly at the Canadian Grand Prix by claiming a pole position and a podium. The German team had stated that the Spanish Grand Prix would be decisive in confirming, or not, the contribution of their new parts. In recent years, the Catalan circuit has often worked in favor of the Silver Arrows. In 2023, for example, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell both managed to get on the podium, the only time this season.

This weekend in Montmélo, we found the Mercedes of yesteryear. In qualifying, the two British drivers managed to secure the second row for the first time this year. It was the next day, during the start of the Grand Prix, that George Russell really surprised everyone, starting with Max Verstappen et Lando Norris. After a remarkable takeoff, the pilot managed to sneak outside; he keeps his cool, manages to delay his braking as much as possible to gain an advantage over the two drivers on the front row. A departure worthy of the greatest which thrilled more than one.

The German team was able to get back into the battle from the Canadian Grand Prix. The new pieces seem to be working and are leading the Silver Arrows down a positive path.
