The Turkish Grand Prix will return in Formula 1 in 2027. The championship announced this on Friday, April 24, 2026, in the early afternoon. A five-year contract has been signed between the various parties, ensuring Istanbul Park's presence on the calendar until 2031. The last two editions of the Turkish race took place in 2021 and 2021, with the seventh world title of Lewis Hamilton in 2020. In 2021, it's Valtteri Bottas, then at Mercedes Benzwhich had prevailed.

The 5,33-kilometer track first appeared on the calendar in 2005. Nine Grands Prix have been held on the Istanbul circuit. Felipe Massa holds the record for most wins there with three consecutive victories between 2006 and 2008. Classic Ferrari for sale.

Turkey will not be the only country to return to the Formula 1 map in 2027, as Portugal was confirmed in December 2025.

After the return of Portimao in 2027, comes Istanbul Park, the scene of a "sumptuous" clash between teammates from the Webber/Vettel era in 2010! Who's next, Buddh in India or Kyalami in South Africa, since Vietnam, Thailand, and South Korea are no longer being mentioned? Perhaps other destinations will need to be found if the war in the Persian Gulf drags on...

No comment on this otherwise excellent article, but I wanted to express my frustration, as a paying subscriber to the magazine since its inception, at not being able to read the articles published here without logging in each time, and then having to fight against those damn pop-up ads, carefully designed to disrupt the reading experience, practically impossible to close without opening the commercial site, and reappearing with every new article. AutoHebdo, I love you, but your site is a nightmare to use compared to Motorsport Magazine or Racers, for example. Do something!
