The Weekly Question is back for a new edition. Each week, you have the opportunity to answer a question about an event that took place the previous weekend or that could take place the next. F1, MotoGP, Rally, Endurance, IndyCarGT… all disciplines will be included.
This week, the absence of Williams during the Shakedown of the Formula 1 held in Barcelona from January 26 to 31 and the disappointing appearance ofAston Martin were surprising. Amid a major technical revolution in F1 this year, the risks were high for all teams, but it was Williams that paid the price. The Grove-based team failed to pass certain safety tests on its FW48.
The Grove-based team was unable to participate in this first closed-door test due to a development delay. James Vowles' men have nevertheless confirmed they will be present at the next tests scheduled for February 11-13 in Bahrain.
Aston Martin, for its part, only completed its first laps on the fourth day. A first outing as short as it was disappointing for a car designed by Adrian Newey, who is often described as the best engineer in Formula 1.
Is there therefore cause for concern for both teams?

It's crucial to wait for Bahrain 1 from February 11th to 13th to learn more about Aston Martin and Williams! However, as my grandmother used to say, "lost time can never be recovered"... but in 2026, with the new regulations, won't the learning curves of both teams hold a few surprises for us?

Williams has fallen the furthest behind, unable to test anything in Barcelona, and Bahrain will be a leap into the unknown. If technical problems arise, the team won't be able to focus on performance and risks plummeting to the back of the grid. Disappointing for such a team.
