John Elkann, boss of FerrariWill the actions taken against its pilots have had the effect of an electric shock? Lewis Hamilton et Charles Leclerc in their quest for second place in the championship? “Brazil was a huge disappointment. In Formula 1On one hand, there are the mechanics who did their job, both in terms of performance and pit stops. The engineers did the same, with the car clearly improving. The rest wasn't up to par. They (the drivers) should focus on driving and talk less. accused the head of the Italian firm. There are still a few races left, and a second-place finish is entirely possible.

The two men were already focused, especially since the Monegasque driver's return to the podium and the Briton's resurgence in form. However, misfortune struck the Reds at Interlagos. Hamilton partly caused his own crash by clipping the rear of the...Alpine of Franco Colapinto at the start of the Brazilian GP while contact with Carlos Sainz also contributed to his retirement mid-race. His garage neighbor, meanwhile, was the collateral victim of a collision between Oscar piastri and Kimi Antonelli. A costly incident for which the Australian was penalized, while Leclerc believes that Antonelli also bears some responsibility.

This double retirement therefore leaves Ferrari empty-handed. Mercedes Meanwhile, he managed to hold his own thanks to an impressive second-place finish from Antonelli. Max Verstappen completed the podium for Red BullWith three rounds remaining, second place in the Constructors' Championship seems to be slipping away from Maranello, as the Scuderia has traded this position with the Silver Arrows for most of the season. "Second place in the Constructors' Championship is going to be extremely difficult to achieve." " lamented Charles Leclerc after the Brazilian GP.

Ferrari still in the running for second place in the Constructors' Championship

The Italian team now sits in fourth position, behind Mercedes and a Red Bull side that has bounced back thanks to the spectacular performances of Max Verstappen, who is now four points ahead of the Scuderia. The battle for the silver medal remains wide open, however, with the final races approaching in Las Vegas, Losail, and Abu Dhabi – three circuits where Ferrari has yet to win.

The Las Vegas street circuit, with its generally cold conditions and very long back straight, presents a challenge for the SF-25, which has struggled this season in these low-downforce configurations. However, some statistics offer grounds for optimism. On the circuit of " Sin City Leclerc and Sainz (former Ferrari driver) have already stood on the podium twice. In Qatar, the number 16 driver also finished second in 2024. Ferrari boasts twelve podium finishes at the Yas Marina circuit. This year, Charles Leclerc has excelled on circuits with medium to high downforce. An encouraging sign before the final two races, which precisely exhibit these characteristics.

With 362 points and 36 points behind Mercedes, anything is still possible for Frédéric Vasseur's team. Ferrari still has a chance to finish in the money, provided they can turn the frustration of Interlagos into motivation and John Elkann's barbs into driving force to end the season on a positive note.

What's the point of finishing 2nd? What does it offer that's different from 4th? Who even remembers the 2nd place finishers? For a few million that won't change the budget cap at all? On the other hand, the further down the rankings you are, the more wind tunnel time you get, and that's much more interesting than a runner-up title that only interests a handful of people getting worked up on a forum (I'm the one who's been blown away :)

Totally agree with the bald guy, even if dollars shouldn't leave the "born in New York City" John ELKANN unmoved, 🤣🤣🤣!

It's looking bleak to secure the runner-up title in the 2025 Constructors' Championship, especially with a boss who doesn't seem interested in uniting the Maranello team! Red Bull Racing, with only one driver scoring points, is performing better than Ferrari with its two drivers, one of whom is extremely expensive considering his "performance"... Elkann must be increasingly fuming about having written a huge check to bring Sir Lewis to Maranello!

With Hamilton still in charge in 2026, no chance at all!!! Besides, Mercedes with its two good drivers... they have the same engine as McLaren :):):)

Elkann could have at least added some nuance. Leclerc is getting more out of his car than it's capable of, and he's the one keeping the team afloat, not the engineers who designed this clunker. As for Hamilton... everyone knows that any other driver who so often misses the mark on weekends and is so thoroughly outclassed by his teammate would be out of contention by the end of this season. 2026 will shake things up, but it won't change the balance of power that's already established between him and Leclerc. Even if the car is competitive, there's little chance he'll be the one fighting for the title.
