How many last chances will Ferrari have? As the halfway point of the season approaches, the Team still does not appear able to win races, and the Canadian Grand Prix, usually a success for Lewis Hamilton, has not allowed either of the two teammates of the stable to shine again this season.
While no changes have been made by Ferrari for several weeks, a structural improvement had been mentioned at the latest for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. According to Frédéric Vasseur, the next round of the season, scheduled for the weekend of June 27-29, could ultimately be the scene of further progress for the Scuderia.
Sufficient or in vain contributions for Ferrari?
"The developments will come soon, before the UK, but I don't think that's the main problem. We managed to light up in purple in the first sector (in Canada. Editor’s note), It's not that the car is bad or that we really need improvements. I'm not sure other teams are making improvements every weekend." Frédéric Vasseur had split during the last Grand Prix in Montreal.
Although Lewis Hamilton has repeatedly shown a lack of understanding of Ferrari's work on these upcoming developments, the SF-25 should benefit from a new rear suspension in the coming days. This way, the rear axle should be able to operate in a better height window, and theoretically, be less disruptive to the drivers regarding the sliding often felt in fast cornering sequences in particular. The main problem for the Scuderia this year is the balance of the rear axle of the car should have been reworked by Loïc Serra and his teams, the Frenchman holding the position of technical director in charge of the chassis at Ferrari.
An illusory hope for the Scuderia?
Lacking a technical director between July and October, the Italian team appears to be significantly behind schedule in the development of its single-seater this year. However, Frédéric Vasseur's message has not changed since the start of the season: Ferrari has not missed its target, as the car's potential is very real despite the difficulties.
Inclined not to focus all attention on his team, the French director nevertheless wanted to minimize expectations before Spielberg: "We've now reached the end of the lifespan of these regulations, and we all know that when we put something on track, we're talking more about hundredths than tenths." he said.
However, it is still important to note that for the first time, Ferrari is preparing to resolve a structural problem, inherent to the mechanics of the single-seater, and no longer just an aerodynamic one. This attempt, which is not announced as the final one by the team, could it allow the Scuderia drivers to envisage a long-awaited comeback, and why not a new very good result for Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone? The suspense should not last so long, one week before the 11th Grand Prix of this 2025 season.

Whether the Scuderia is back in form or has a very long season without success, we should know quite quickly this weekend at Zeltweg!
