Beaten by Max Verstappen in Italy and Azerbaijan, then by George Russell in Singapore, Oscar piastri et Lando Norris are no longer the metronomes they were until the summer. Drivers of the officially world champion team F1 since the last occurrence, the two protagonists of McLaren have experienced the first difficulties of their collaboration of the year on the sporting level, and this could begin to be felt in the way business is managed internally.

Inclined to make great progress on the technical level, Mercedes et Red Bull are indeed the only competitors capable of competing with the Papayes. Conversely, the pilots of the Team Ferrari appear to be maximizing the performance of their SF-25, but they are actually running into limits they cannot surpass. Since the return from the summer break, the situation has truly changed, relegating Ferrari to the role of fourth force on the grid. Without being as absolute regarding McLaren, the question could legitimately be asked about the Woking team's position. Are the British still the natural leaders of the world championship, or is their lead, built up early on, destined to melt like snow in the sun?

Purely indicative, this hypothetical ranking allows us to take stock of the current dynamics. Since the Dutch Grand Prix, marking the return of Formula 1 at the end of August, Ferrari seems to have never recovered from this costly double retirement, while the first clues were already beginning to emerge as to the outline of the real ranking.
