A Mario Kart-style track that should bring in "no less than 500 million euros to Madrid's GDP," to quote José Vicente de los Mozos. When it comes to public money, the relevant authorities unfortunately have a bad habit of making mistakes, always exaggerating revenues to push the project through (like successive French governments that always overestimate revenues and underestimate expenses)... the residents of the Albertville region can attest to this regarding the 1992 Winter Olympics! It's a shame they didn't modernize the historic Jarama track, as was done for Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

I have in mind the sad images of the remains of the Valencia circuit, used for only 5 years (2008-2012) and then abandoned to decay. I hope the Spanish won't make the same mistake with Madrid.

Thanks for the reminder! I'd indeed forgotten about that Valencian circuit where Mark Webber so spectacularly overtook Kovalainen...
