Williams unveils a special black livery in Las Vegas

At the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Williams made a bold statement by unveiling a brand-new livery: an all-black design accented with rainbow details, intended to celebrate the power of Rovo artificial intelligence, developed by its title partner Atlassian. This was the British team's way of highlighting the major technological advancements undertaken since the start of their collaboration in March 2025.

The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix featured a veritable fashion show from the cars on the grid. Seven of them – with the exception of Classic Mercedes for sale, Haas et Aston Martin – had changed their usual colours for special liveries in homage to the first Grand Prix held in the capital of gaming since 1982 (Caesars Palace GP).

In 2024, a new series of special liveries emerged, and the 2025 edition seems to be following the same pattern. It's Williams which kicked things off by revealing its new colors on Monday, November 17th. Designed to visually complement the nocturnal brilliance of the Las Vegas Strip, this one-off livery is distinguished by a deep black contrast and colorful accents evoking speed, data, and computing power. Williams intends to highlight the contribution of Rovo, the AI tool at the heart of the Atlassian System of Work, capable of connecting data, teams, and workflows to improve responsiveness and operational efficiency.

Since arriving in Grove as title sponsor, Atlassian has supported a vast internal modernization project: process optimization, reduction of silos, dynamic prioritization… all levers to optimize the team's work.

The first special livery had brought good luck

This is the third themed livery resulting from this partnership. The first, unveiled in Austin (followed by another in Brazil), paid homage to the 2002 design and brought the team good luck: Carlos Sainz He had secured Williams' first ever Sprint podium, marking his second top 3 in 2025 after the one achieved in the streets of Baku (Azerbaijan).

For James Vowles, this livery is not just a stylistic exercise: “This remarkable livery is the latest celebration of our work with Atlassian, which is helping us accelerate our technological transformation and bring Williams back to the forefront of innovation. There is no more iconic location than Las Vegas, one of the most tech-driven cities, to unveil it.”

Sorin Cheran, Chief Information and Analytics Officer, echoed this sentiment: "In the middle of the season of F1“We need to find improvements and solutions quickly. Rovo helps us search for files, data, and information within our Atlassian system, which ultimately allows us to progress faster and find that all-important lap time. This is essential if we want to achieve our goal: to return to the front and win multiple World Championship titles.”

With 111 points this season, Williams has already achieved its best result since 2016, when the British team finished 6th in the Constructors' Championship. This year, they seem well on their way to securing 5th place.

Black finish? For aesthetic reasons or to save weight?

A perfect black livery for an urban karting race... at night. Curious to see how it'll look on TV under the Sin City spotlights. Hey DPPI, this livery looks great for your photographers, doesn't it!

This livery is nice, although I feel like there are too many special liveries, just like there are too many special helmets.
