After the ecstasy and joy of a home victory in front of the tifosi, it is time for analysis and a return to work for Ferrari. Victorious in Monza thanks to a remarkable strategy perfectly executed by the Reds and by Charles Leclerc, Team must now do the hardest part: confirm this increase in performance in the next rounds, starting with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

In Maranello, the post-Monaco period is still on everyone's mind: after Charles Leclerc's success in the streets of the Principality, the Italian team experienced a lull during the following four Grands Prix (50 points scored by Leclerc and Sainz, only one podium), being relegated behind the McLaren and Mercedes.

However, this time, Ferrari has reason to believe in a dynamic that will continue in the next rounds. The developments made at Monza, announced as specific to the Lombard circuit, have brought satisfaction to the Italian clan and could serve as a basis for future meetings.

Charles Leclerc, however, recognizes that the Scuderia must remain "careful" on the evaluation of the upcoming Grand Prix. “After Monaco, I think we had the four worst races of the season, because Monaco was so specific to our car at the time. Monza is also a very specific and particular circuit. Lots of straights, few corners. We also had a rear wing for this circuit, which helped us win.”

“We also benefited from another evolution, which has definitely brought us closer to McLaren, but I don't think it's enough to be the car to beat for the rest of the season on other circuits, underlines the Monegasque. I think we still have a lot of work to do, but I'm really happy in any case to have one here in Italy."

Singapore, Ferrari's best chance of victory?

The eight remaining Grands Prix on the 2024 calendar feature a variety of different circuits, from the street tracks of Singapore to the high-speed circuits of Mexico and twisty tracks like Interlagos in Brazil. Which of these might best suit the SF-24? “Before this race, I didn’t see ourselves competing for victories anywhere else. Maybe Singapore. Singapore could be a good circuit for us, believes Charles Leclerc. On other circuits, I always have the impression that we are a little behind McLaren and Red Bull »

"We have seen that we can be very close to McLaren if we do everything perfectly, concludes Charles Leclerc. However, for the other circuits, I don't know if it will be enough to completely close the gap, especially the gap we saw in the previous races, not [at Monza]. We have to wait and see, but we have made some steps forward. I think more are needed." As in Monza, the Ferrari drivers could also take advantage of the squabbles between the McLaren drivers to go and achieve other successes...
