The French team has officially announced the end of its collaboration with Jack Doohan, its former regular driver who has returned to being a reserve driver.

Unsurprisingly, this marks the end of the road for Jack Doohan and AlpineAppointed by the Australian driver for the 2025 season, his tenure was ultimately short-lived. After succeeding Esteban Ocon From the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix onwards, Jack Doohan was ultimately replaced after only six Grands Prix by Franco Colapinto, the current driver, who had distinguished himself at Williams in 2024.

The son of legendary motorcycle racer Mick Doohan ended his brief F1 career with a retirement at the Miami Grand Prix. Following his demotion, the Aussie nevertheless remained with the team as a reserve driver. The end of this partnership thus concludes a short career in Formula 1. Formula 1, with seven Grand Prix to his credit, no points scored and a 13th place as his best result achieved at the Chinese Grand Prix.

What future awaits Jack Doohan?

Alpine confirmed the end of this collaboration via a " mutual agreement with Jack Doohan In a statement, the team emphasizes that Jack became the first member of theAlpine Academy to gain access to a racing seat with the team when he made his Grand Prix debut at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The team would like to thank Jack for his commitment and professionalism over the past four years, both on and off the track, and wishes him all the best for the future. »

Jack Doohan is now tipped to join Super Formula in Japan, after participating in the series' tests in mid-December. The former F1 driver crashed three times at Degner during those tests, a corner he was already familiar with after losing control of his Alpine during FP2 of the Japanese F1 Grand Prix. His planned move to the Japanese category could also lead to a closer relationship with Haas et Toyota according to some rumors.

To be reduced to pointing out that Doohan "became the first member of theAlpine "Academy access to a racing seat with the team"... not exactly glorious for BATT! And one wonders what the point of this is... Alpine Academy. After the Australian's departure, the next departure... that of his manager (or former manager now?) the King of Cheaters?
