If the season had started badly for Alpine, she is a little better on board for a few races, with points scored by Esteban Ocon et Pierre Gasly. The objective from the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend is obviously to continue the best performances achieved before the summer break by the French drivers, according to David Sanchez.

“Looking at how we finished the first part of the season, our natural goal for the second part is to settle into our highest level of performance, which is to consistently get into Q3 in qualifying. , ambition the French technical director. It's difficult, because the Top Teams make access to Q3 very competitive, but we have seen that if we are able to extract all the potential from the car and make new improvements, we can be at the limit of the Top 10 and staying there is our goal. If we are able to do that, we should be able to collect points for the championship (…) Another objective is to continue to build the foundations of a competitive spirit for the future. »

2025 and 2026 in the viewfinder

Ten races from the end of the 2024 championship, Alpine has already turned its sights towards the seasons to come. The particularity of the situation lies in the fact that there is only one year left for the 2022 technical regulations. Yes, already. The French team announced improvements to come in the second part of the season, which will take the car in the direction towards 2025. Preparation also continues for 2026 and its new regulations, which are fast approaching.

« Recently we have managed to improve the car and our performance on track, but the main question is: how will we continue to improve the team, the car to ensure that we are in a competitive position this year, l next year and above all, in 2026 and beyond? asks David Sanchez on YouTube. The team is currently focused on developing a development plan, a clear direction to follow for the current generation with next year's car, which will be a continuation. It's already underway and we have positive signals from the aerodynamic departments and on the simulations. »

« One of the main topics is to observe and ensure, within the team itself, that we have the necessary resources to design an increasingly efficient car. This is why you will see [at enstone] places that look more like construction sites: we build new installations, a new simulator, all that to materialize the ideas of the engineers, so that the car improves more and more with the knowledge we have of it. »

One question remains unanswered: what are the ambitions ofAlpine for 2026? Flavio Briatore, who arrived two months ago, has already answered this question and sees the team fight for podiums within two years!

“Continue to build the foundations of a competitive spirit for the future”, a statement that leaves you wondering! Enstone and Viry didn't have a competitive spirit? I will bet on the eventual resale of the stable whatever Luca De Méo says

Alpine will have to digest the abandonment of the manufacture of its engines, the introduction within 2 years of a new propeller and by then a car which will remain below the 4 tenors due to lack of engine power and in the meantime results on track due to a revamped technical "chassis" team This is a lot to digest while the other "premium" teams continue to progress De Meo through his aberrant managerial choices has greatly complicated the recovery of the team and the last choice made (Briatore ) is still in the same logic, unless we go towards a liquidation/resale of the team
