We were gradually getting closer to it during the previous races and we demonstrated it with this small reward”, declares the Norman before going to Imola, for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, this weekend, the seventh meeting of the year.

A first unit which must obviously be the first stone of progression in the hierarchy. “ The whole team is extremely motivated and continues to give everything despite a difficult start to the year, assures Ocon. However, we cannot just fight for so little. We have a long way to go and our competitors are not standing still. We must use this result as an additional source of motivation to keep our feet on the floor and continue our progress. »

Alpine had the opportunity to start moving towards the points thanks in particular to the developments made to the A524 during the last races. “ The first point of the season in Miami shows that we are progressing after a very difficult start to the campaign, explains Bruno Famin, the main team of the French team. Over the last two races, we have shown a small improvement in our competitiveness and our ability to fight for more encouraging positions on the track. Even if this is partly due to certain specificities of the circuits, we were able to free up performance thanks to our developments. »

We will have to wait to see new major developments on the car French. “ We will not bring any significant changes to the next events, but we continue to work hard in the factories to improve the car and extract more performance. », Indicates Bruno Famin.
