Aston Martin thanks its drivers for their dedication: “They could have been negative, but they weren’t”

What a year for Aston Martin in 2023! The British team distinguished itself with meteoric progress compared to 2022, particularly at the start of the season with multiple podiums and a status as the second force in the field.
Led by a Fernando Alonso still impressive at 42 years old, the Silverstone team shined while coming very close to a victory at the start of the year... before slowly falling down the hierarchy. At the end of the year, the Greens were no longer as competitive and began to lose ground in the championship, eventually finishing fifth among the Manufacturers.
If the final result does not reflect the work done by Aston Martin between 2022 and 2023, and especially this fantastic start to the season, Mike Krack wanted to thank his two drivers for their dedication throughout the season, despite the period most difficult experience in October.
Stroll and Alonso had the right mentality, according to Krack
“I am full of admiration for the drivers this year, said the senior director on the Aston Martin website. They made us a better team. I think we learn more about their character in difficult races. Mexico is a good example: after this race, they were constructive during the briefings and supported us during discussions with the media. They could have been very negative in the press – and we would have deserved it for not giving them a competitive car that weekend – but they didn’t. Rather, they both expressed faith in the long-term goals and the journey we are on. For me, that’s what stands out. »
“In other teams, we often see drivers go to the media to blame the team for their poor results, he added. Lance and Fernando did not adopt this mentality. Here, there are not the drivers and the team; the drivers are part of the team. I think in this regard we are perhaps a little different from our competitors. » Let's also not forget that among the two pilots, one is the boss's son, and the other is the boss's friend...
