A promotion for Ollie Bearman. The Briton, 6th in the championship Formula 2 last season with PREMA, became reserve driver of the Team Ferrari and F1. A role which will share with the two pilots already in reserve for the Reds and engaged in WEC this year with AF Corse, namely Robert Shwartzman and Antonio Giovinazzi.

The 18-year-old driver will therefore have to keep “ready to intervene in the event of incapacity” de Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz, on the weekends when Robert Shwartzman and Antonio Giovinazzi are busy with their obligations in Endurance. Ollie Bearman has his Super License thanks to his 3rd place in Formula 3 in 2022 and therefore, his 6th place in Formula 2 in 2023. The native of Chelmsford (United Kingdom) has already driven a modern Formula 1, during Free Practice 1 in Mexico and Abu Dhabi. He will be involved in F2 again in 2024, still with PREMA, alongside Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Leclerc becomes Ferrari development driver
For his part, Arthur Leclerc joins Antonio Fuoco and Davide Rigon as development driver. Its role will mainly consist of “to work in the simulator, on the development of the car, the settings and the evolutions introduced during the season”, specifies Ferrari. The Monegasque, brother of Charles Leclerc, will also race this year in GT, in the Italian Grand Touring championship.
Oliver Bearman and Arthur Leclerc will be behind the wheel of the F1-75 – the Ferrari used in 2022 – for a three-day Pirelli test session at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit from January 29-31. The titular drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be behind the wheel of last year's SF23 for these private tests.
