Charles Leclerc extends his contract with Ferrari “beyond 2024”

Yes, he stays! Charles Leclerc will continue the adventure with the Team Ferrari for at least one more year. The Italian team formalized this Thursday the extension of the contract of its star driver “beyond the 2024 season”, in a short and brief press release.

“Scuderia Ferrari is pleased to announce that it has extended its contract with Charles Leclerc who will therefore continue to drive for the Italian team in the world championship of Formula 1 beyond the 2024 season », can we read in this press release. Ferrari did not specify the duration of this contract extension, but it would extend over several seasons after 2024.

Charles Leclerc, a pure product of the Ferrari academy, made his debut with the Scuderia in 2019, after a year of apprenticeship at Sauber in 2018. Since then, the Monegasque has carried the Reds high despite some laborious seasons: in five seasons, the 26-year-old driver has won five victories and taken 26 pole positions.

The extension of Charles Leclerc beyond 2024 therefore means that there will be one place (and one driver) less on the transfer market in 2024. The second Ferrari seat, which belongs to a Carlos Sainz at the end of his contract in 2024, will be available, but the Spaniard is on track to also extend his contract with the Reds.
