There are enough converging sources to announce now, and without waiting for official communication from the team Haas, thatEsteban Ocon defector fromAlpine, will take up residence within the American structure from 2025.

The stable, who announced at Silverstone the recruitment of Oliver Bearman, replacing Nico Hulkenberg selected by Audi-Sauber, had the possibility of retaining Kevin Magnussen or to make a clean slate of the past. It is this second option which was favored with, therefore, a final choice between Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon.

Ocon, second Frenchman at Haas

The Frenchman was preferred to lead the offensive of the small Yankee structure, while the Finn could join the team Williams already frequented in 2013 and 2016. In the event of a last minute problem, the ex-pilot Mercedes could bounce back Indycar where several stables expressed their interest to him, but the F1 remains its priority.

The happiness of some making the misfortune of others, Kevin Magnussen is paying the price for the arrival of the French driver, winner of the 2021 Hungarian GP. The Dane says he has been exploring options outside of F1 for 2025 for some time now.

Esteban Ocon will then be the 9th different driver for the American team (counting Ollie Bearman) and the second Frenchman to drive for Haas after Romain Grosjean, who competed in 96 Grands Prix between 2016 and 2020.

An open secret, isn’t it! And a clear line up with a Number 1 (Ocon) and a Number 2 rookie (Bearman). But Ocon will have to be wary of what appeared to be a fighter plane in Jeddah
