Since the creation of the world championship of Formula 1In 1950, some seasons were more suspenseful than others. Among them, around thirty world titles were awarded at the end of the championship final, crowning more than 25 different drivers at the final event of the calendar.
This year, three drivers competed for the world championship trophy: Max Verstappen, titled in this way in the face of Lewis Hamilton In 2021, who could well relive that this year? Lando Norris, leader upon arriving in Abu Dhabi, and Oscar piastri, the British teammate at McLaren, who were both fighting for their first title. F1 has seen a number of three-way finals: eleven in total. This was notably the case during the inaugural 1950 and 1951 seasons.
It is also in this context thatAlain ProstIn 1986, he secured his second world title, ahead of Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet. This scenario has already played out in Abu Dhabi in the past. During the first decisive final held at the Yas Marina circuit in 2010, a quartet of drivers were in contention for the title: Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton.

At the first corner, Norris and Verstappen should be cautious to avoid handing the title to Piastri, and Norris has no interest in pushing too hard. By sticking to Verstappen like glue, he's already champion. On the other hand, for Piastri, even if he improves in qualifying tomorrow, the task is almost impossible and, in fact, doesn't depend on him.

It's likely to be very close... 👍👍 But watch out... ⚠️ at the first corner ‼️ If Lando & Max are on the front row then... it's going to be intense 🥵 up front... Max will take all the risks!!!!!!! 👍. And let's not forget... Oscar... on paper it looks complicated. And what about the drivers... in between... the Mercedes boys, Carlos...? and Isack? First... qualifying... tomorrow!!!!!! 🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥 😎👍👍👍😎

2007, okay, but you all seem to have forgotten that Kimi was 7 points behind while Piastri was 16. Lewis had a minor mechanical issue this year.

The points system was different; the Grand Prix winner scored 10 points, whereas today they score 25.

2007 was a painful experience for the McLaren duo of Alonso and Hamilton at the time! It looks like history is about to repeat itself for the Woking-based team...

Correction: In 82, if Rosberg hadn't scored points in the final Grand Prix, Pironi could have been crowned champion without competing in the race. But Watson was also in contention in the final Grand Prix.

For Prost, this was his second title, not his first. In 1982, Pironi (injured since the German GP) would have struggled to defend his chances in the final GP.
