A big development to come for Alpine, looking towards 2025

After a more than complicated start to the season, Alpine is gradually raising the bar, with several arrivals in the points, while restructuring from a personnel point of view.

Exit the technical director, Matt Harman, who left for Williams, and also goodbye to Bruno Famin, Team Principal, who is now in charge of the restructuring of the factory Viruses-Châtillon, and other activities Alpine Racing. David Sanchez arrived earlier in the year to replace Harman, and it is Oliver Oakes who will preside over the destiny of the team Formula 1 from the Dutch Grand Prix, alongside executive advisor Flavio Briatore.

Eighth in the championship, Alpine is still not at the expected level, but it is undeniable that the Blues have come back on track, after the first Grands Prix where it was inconceivable to see A524s finish in the points. Esteban Ocon et Pierre Gasly manage to finish in the top ten much more regularly, and according to Sanchez, there is still a big improvement to be made on the car, in order to certainly seek performance in 2024, but also to calmly prepare for 2025.

The search for performance rather than solving problems

« NWe have another development, which should be quite major, and which should serve as a basis for next year. We'll do more on this year's car, that's for sure.", declared the technical director. « The number one problem for everyone is to find more downforce and try to fix any anomalies that we might see with the current car. This upcoming package is primarily intended to increase downforce, but also increase top speed a bit. »

A major development, planned for a few races after the return from the summer break, which will therefore allow Alpine to concentrate on extracting performance, after having spent the first part of the season solving problems on his A524, which was notably overweight. These developments will be useful for the 2025 season, where the single-seaters should change little compared to this year, before a major regulatory change (engine + chassis) in 2026, and in which the Enstone team hopes to do well. .

So the start of the 2025 season could be more glorious than that of 2024 (difficult to do worse in any case!) like Haas which was able to raise the bar during the 2023/2024 off-season!
