Before we get to these new features, you've probably noticed that all the single-seaters start their test days equipped with strange and massive grids. These devices are used to measure air pressure at various points using Kiel probes and Pitot tubes, in order to analyze the aerodynamic flows around the cars and correlate this data collected in real conditions with computer simulations. Track testing has been reduced to a minimum in recent years in order to limit costs. So, while the cars were running in Bahrain, the simulators were running at full speed in the factories of the different teams to explore different avenues and limit the drivers' work on the track to the essentials.
