A blink of an eyelash. A snap of the fingers. A blink of the eyelids. This is what a racing race is sometimes about. Formula 1. This is especially what the podium of Fernando Alonso, Sunday, at the end of a race which lasted 1 hour, 56 minutes, 48 seconds and 894 thousandths. The outcome was all the more enjoyable for the pilot Aston Martin that if the Interlagos circuit had been 5 meters longer, he would certainly have finished 4th, with the chocolate medal around his neck.
It was therefore 53 thousandths of a second short of it.
