  • It's the end of a wait, a very long wait for Lando Norris. He did not start as the big favorite for victory this Sunday at the Miami Grand Prix but the elements worked in his favor. However, the mass seemed said. Max Verstappen, who almost got hit by his teammate Sergio Pérez at the start, mastered his subject in the first half of the race.
  • He had certainly not created this gap to which he has accustomed us for three years but everything seemed under control for the pilot Red Bull which made its stop without problem under virtual safety car regime at 23e turn, after having provoked it. In an ideal world, Max Verstappen, came out 4e, logically should have regained the lead of the Miami Grand Prix once all the stops had been made a few laps later.
  • It was without counting on Logan sargeant et Kevin Magnussen, protagonists of a clash at 29e lap which caused the safety car to enter the track. This offered an almost free stop to Lando Norris, then provisionally in the lead. With around 11 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen, he would certainly have come out close to him except that a misunderstanding of the race direction sent the Safety Car at the wrong time and right in front of Max Verstappen, blocking him and above all allowing him to English to maintain first position.

  • The peloton regrouped, Lando Norris relaunched the pack at 33e round. Despite the threat of the triple world champion behind, the pilot McLaren never shook. On the contrary, it flew away! His rival in delicacy with the hard rubber which never brought him satisfaction, the child from Bristol pushed him back more than 7 seconds to go solo towards the first victory of his career. Charles Leclerc accompanied them on the podium while Carlos Sainz and Sergio Pérez completed the Top 5.

  • For Lando Norris, it was the end of a drought since he signed his first success on the day of his 110th start in Formula 1. Worse, with 15 podiums under his belt, he held the record for podiums without a victory. It was therefore the 16th which allowed him to defeat the Indian sign. It is now over for him who becomes the 114th winner in history.

The first points ofAlpine

  • On the French side, there was great satisfaction with the first points of the season for Alpine. Pierre Gasly was in a better position thanEsteban Ocon in the first part of the race but here too the events of the Grand Prix favored his teammate. After a very good Sunday where he executed everything perfectly, Esteban Ocon won the last unit in play with 10th position just behind Fernando Alonso. Pierre Gasly took the checkerboard in 12th place.

  • Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) was penalized five seconds for his daring attack on Oscar piastri (McLaren). The Spaniard hit the Australian, causing significant damage to the front wing of the McLaren (15th). As a result, Carlos Sainz loses one place and is now ranked 5th.

When will the FIA press release arrive to explain to us the why and how of this unacceptable boondoggle? How come RB doesn't file a complaint?
