Relive the Belgian GP qualifying live with commentary

Just one week after the double McLaren and the first success ofOscar piastri en Formula 1 on Hungarian soil, Formula 1 met at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend for the Belgian Grand Prix, the fourteenth round of the 2024 season, the last before the summer break. Max Verstappen has won the last three years on the Toboggan des Ardennes, but will be penalized ten places on the grid on Sunday for the use of a fourth engine this year. 17:02 p.m. – The qualifying rankings for the Belgian Grand Prix. The best time is for Verstappen, but that's good Charles Leclerc who will start from pole position this Sunday! The race will be followed from 15 p.m. with live commentary on AUTOhebdo. Thank you to all of you !

17:01 p.m. – Pérez has failed and relaxes his effort, pole goes to Charles Leclerc!

17h01 - Verstappen does not improve.

17h00 - Charles Leclerc moves back into second place!

16h58 - Sergio Pérez is on provisional pole two minutes from time, since Verstappen will be penalized ten places on the grid this Sunday.

16h57 - Hamilton improves, but it is not enough to pass Pérez for second place.

16h55 - The Dutchman beat his teammate by 0.606 seconds and Hamilton by 0.852 seconds!

16:43 p.m. – Q2 standings with Verstappen’s best time ahead of both Mercedes. Esteban Ocon is in Q3.

16:42 p.m. – The latest improvements have finally doomed Pierre Gasly to elimination in Q2 (12th). Alex Albon (Williams), Daniel Ricciardo (RB), Valtteri Bottas (Stake) and Lance stroll (Aston Martin) accompany it.

16h41 - Second fastest time for George Russell, 0.258 seconds behind Verstappen.

16:40 p.m. – Very nice fourth time for Ocon! Gasly 7th!

16h39 - Pérez moves up to 4th while we are in the last minute of this Q2.

16h38 - Ricciardo virtually eliminates Pérez two minutes from the checkerboard!

16h37 - Leclerc and Sainz climb into the top 5, Ricciardo and Alonso are now in danger.

16:36 p.m. – Russell improves and moves up to 4th place. Sainz falls into the red zone.

16:34 p.m. – Sergio Pérez indicates that it is raining more and more on the circuit.

16:21 p.m. – End of Q1! The eliminated are Nico Hulkenberg, Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Yuki tsunoda (RB), Logan sargeant (Williams) and Guanyu-Zhou (Stake). 

16h20 - All the drivers improved at the end of the session.

16h18 - The investigation between Zhou and Verstappen concerns potential embarrassment by the Chinese driver towards the three-time world champion.

16h17 - George Russell moved up to 3rd place in the last minute of Q1.

16:15 p.m. – Albon rises to 8th place. George Russell falls into the red zone three minutes from the checkerboard.

16h14 - Lance Stroll returns to the top 10 (7th), Gasly 3rd, Ocon 5th.

16:14 p.m. – Max Verstappen new best time in 1:54.938.

16:13 p.m. – Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Alex Albon (Williams), Nico Hülkenberg (Haas), Logan Sargeant (Williams) and Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) are virtually eliminated less than six minutes from the end of Q1.

16:12 p.m. – Best time for Piastri in 1:55.549!

16h11 - In a weekend in which he must not miss out, Sergio Pérez signs the second time… beaten by Ricciardo who comes between the two Red Bull !
