Both out of the points zone, Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly may regret a weekend in which Alpine once again seemed powerless against the rest of the mid-field pack. Initially qualifying 13th, the Argentinian driver of the arrowed A would have hoped to be able to hang on to this symbolic place in the points, but was ultimately prevented from doing so.

"It feels like it was the toughest race. Naturally, when you start in the points, you want to stay there, and we feel like we didn't make the right choice to stay there, he said after the arrival. I think we maximized our chances today, but the strategy wasn't in our favor. It was difficult to know we were going the wrong way, but we had the wrong strategy, stopping early in the race when a lot of cars were going out on the track on hard tires."

Gasly in difficulty, Colapinto does not take advantage of it

While Franco Colapinto lamented his team's tactical set-up after the race, Pierre Gasly can, for his part, regret the unfolding events on a more personal level. Asked to swap positions with the Argentinian midway through the race, the Frenchman then didn't seem to have enough pace to expect any kind of result. According to the young driver wearing the No. 43 car, tire management was notably the cause of these troubles.

“The drivers in front of us, who ran slowly, put us in a very bad position, wearing out our tires, he explainedI had a very slow pace after the pit stop, with dirty air, very difficult overtaking, limited power on the straights, which made our race very complicated."

Pointing once again to the tenth and last position in the Constructors' ranking, Alpine does not help its situation, two weeks before the Austrian Grand Prix, 11th of the 24 total rounds of the season. For the Franco-English firm, the halfway point of the season is approaching, but solutions are not forthcoming.

A team in full disarray where the management is waltzing, where distant decision-makers are deciding before running off, where the engine team, knowing it is doomed, must not make much effort; in short, a team adrift that is just showing up, which logically reflects its position in the standings. Gasly has put in remarkable performances in qualifying; let's hope he can bounce back elsewhere.

Meh, the French are in turmoil in F1, and in WEC 'brilliant result at Le Mans :(:( But with a commendatore (on paper only) we have to look where he's lining his pockets? Alpine F1, he doesn't give a damn. So, drivers, take note: look for another seat, because with Renault in turmoil, we can no longer count on the brand to help, no, car racing :(:(:(

Pronto Flavio, it's Louca, well, I'm fed up with cars, I'm out of the Luxury... everyone can drop F1! Yes, Brille A Tort was on the phone with LdM and couldn't take care of the strategy in Montreal
