First driver to retire on the streets of the Principality after a collision with the Red Bull de Yuki tsunoda, Pierre Gasly is hungry for revenge this weekend in Barcelona. For this ninth round of the season, the Spanish Grand Prix concludes a series of three races in as many weekends. While the Norman was expecting a better weekend in Monaco, theAlpine A525 was not the most cooperative, even though it was less than a second behind the best in Q1.

The driver with the number 10 car therefore expects to be in better shape this weekend, on a Barcelona circuit which is closer to the usual tracks of the world championship of Formula 1With long, fast curves and perfectly smooth asphalt, the difficulties encountered in Monaco could be nothing more than a bad memory for the blue and pink.

"It was very difficult for the whole team in Monaco, we clearly had higher expectations before the start of the weekend.", he explained on the official F1 website. “We struggled with pace on a bumpy street circuit with a car that needs to be set up differently than other circuits. Unfortunately, we weren't able to unlock as much performance as the other teams. In such a tight field, where we finished just seven-tenths off the fastest time in Q1, but with the eighteenth fastest time, it can be costly. I'm sure we'll be better here in Barcelona because the circuit is smoother, there are more fast corners, I expect us to be faster. We really need to understand all of this and show better performance this weekend.”

Gasly is looking forward to driving on "one of the best circuits of the season"

At a track close to the French border, Pierre Gasly expects to be particularly well-supported this weekend. The Frenchman truly appreciates the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which will potentially host his final Grand Prix next year, due to the arrival of the Madring in the capital, Madrid, on the world championship calendar in 2026.

“I have to say I’m enjoying the whole weekend here. I love the city of Barcelona; there’s a good energy. As a Frenchman, I admit we have a lot of support; there are quite a few fans who travel from France. We’ve all done a lot of laps in Barcelona. We like to say we’ve done too many laps and we’re going to get tired of it, but in reality it’s one of the best circuits of the season. There are a lot of fast corners, where you really appreciate the performance of these modern Formula 1 cars. Taking corners at 280 km/h, you never get tired of it. It’s the kind of feeling I love in an F1 car.”

He'd better lay low after his Monaco mistake! And if he doesn't, what excuses will he find? This 2025 season looks like... Alpine increasingly to a gigantic smokescreen. Next 'cleaning' in sight for Flavio, to wipe the slate clean on the side of the No. 1 driver?!

When you hit rock bottom, it's hard to do worse. But you can also stay at rock bottom...

Self-persuasion!! It can't get any worse. It might be better ifAlpine in its entirety Brille A Tort included is silent...

It won't be difficult to do better than in Monaco.
