Isack Hadjar avoids penalty, his podium finish in Monaco confirmed!
© DPPIThe Frenchman escaped without penalty from the investigation opened against him for a potential red-flag infringement by his team. He is indeed third in the Monaco Grand Prix!
After the heartbreak suffered by Pierre GaslyHaving been penalized after crossing the finish line third (ultimately seventh), there will be no further huge disappointment for the French camp in Monaco.
Isaac Hadjar, reclassified third after the application of his friend Pierre Gasly's penalty, indeed retains his place on the podium alongside the winner Kimi Antonelli and Lewis HamiltonIf there was still any doubt, it was that the Frenchman was the subject of two investigations by race control.
The first concerned a possible infraction while in a safety vehicle, when the Red Bull left a lot of space with the car ahead of her, even though the regulations stipulate that there cannot be more than ten single-seaters between two cars following each other. Ultimately cleared in this case, Isack Hadjar was subsequently targeted for a potential infraction under red flag conditions.
The reason: Red Bull's mechanics initially attempted to change parts on his car, which is against the rules. However, the Austrians ultimately changed their minds and reinstalled all the original components before the race resumed, allowing the Parisian driver to retain his third place.
"The Stewards heard from representatives of the team as well as the FIA Technical Delegate, and examined the photographic evidence," The FIA justifies its decision. "The team was reported to have attempted to replace spark plugs/ignition coils, but ultimately did not carry out this replacement, as the car started the race in the same condition as when it arrived in the pits. Consequently, no further action will be taken."
Isack Hadjar therefore climbs onto his second podium in Formula 1, his first since joining Red Bull in January.
