Lewis Hamilton: “I have never cried after a victory”

It was not a victory that the seven-time world champion signed at Silverstone, it was a therapy that he completed when his tears flowed on the podium. After two and a half years, Lewis Hamilton has finally rid himself of the haunting memory of Abu Dhabi 2021.

One hundred and three victories and not a tear. Why today, at the 104th?

Since 2021, I get up every day, try to fight, train, focus on my task and work as hard as possible with this amazing team. It was my last British Grand Prix with Mercedes and I wanted to win for them so much, because I love them, because I appreciate them so much for all the hard work they've done over the years. I will be forever grateful to everyone on this team, to everyone at Mercedes. And to all our incredible fans that I could see you round after round. There is no better feeling for me than finishing on top at Silverstone.
