Who says new drivers in Formula 1, says new numbers in competition. Among the rookies for the 2023 season, Logan sargeant is the first to announce which one he will use during Grand Prix weekends. The American driver thus chose No. 2 for his career in the premier discipline of motorsport. Since the introduction of the permanent number in Formula 1 in 2014, he is only the second driver to have selected this number, after Stoffel Vandoorne (2017-2018).

“I had this number in Formula Renault and I had a pretty good season that year”, explains the 21-year-old driver who is referring here to the 2018 Formula Renault Eurocup campaign contested with R-ace GP. “Number 3 is my lucky number, but it's taken, so I thought why not take another one from the past and race with it in F1? » Although he will no longer be the holder in 2023, number 3 is in fact still the property of Daniel Ricciardo. This will be frozen for two seasons before being made available to other drivers if the Australian does not return to the grid by then.

I think that NUMBER 2 should also be reserved for team N 1, therefore for the teammate of number 1
