Despite its history, Mugello has never really had one with Formula 1. Since its creation at the beginning of the XNUMXth century, the route located in Tuscany, owned by Ferrari since 1988, moreover, has only hosted one Grand Prix. We even had to wait 100 years and the coronavirus pandemic to see F1 happen there.
Unsurprisingly, its presence on the calendar for a season heavily impacted by the health crisis was very well received. All the drivers appreciated its fast turns and its very long straight line. An “old-fashioned” circuit as many of them described it. But now, the good episode only lasted one year and Mugello unfortunately gave up its place to the circuits having a contract with F1.
Despite its disappearance from the calendar, the transalpine circuit has always been supported by drivers who want to find it again in the future. The latest support, and not the least, is that of Max Verstappen. The Dutchman, who has never really shown himself to be on the same wavelength as current F1, did not hesitate for a single second when asked which circuit he would like to see again on the program one day.
