Bringing the past back to life. In Singapore, on the weekend of McLaren will be placed under the sign of homage. While everything is going well for the Woking formation with a victory in Azerbaijan last weekend thanks to Oscar piastri and the takeover of the Builders, it decided to celebrate its past.

Thus, a special livery has been designed for this 2024 Singapore Grand Prix with the aim of paying tribute to its MP4 era from 1981 to 1996. A livery which is part of the Legend Reborn operation, jointly launched with its sponsor OKX, and which follows that used in Monaco where the MCL38s had taken on the colours of Brazil in homage to Ayrton Senna.

While orange is still dominant throughout the bodywork, it welcomes touches of white on the engine hood, the sidepods and the front wing, as well as black. Details that recall the “Triple Crown” livery for the 2023 season.

Through this initiative, McLaren wanted to pay tribute to some of its legends such as Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Niki Lauda. In total, the names of 13 iconic drivers from the MP4 era are inscribed in the cockpit.

Now that McLaren has taken over, this tribute is as timely as it was when it was the terror of the paddock. I'm an absolute fan.
