Nyck de Vries Take the speech. A week after the announcement of his replacement by Daniel Ricciardo in Alpha Tauri from the Hungarian Grand Prix which will take place this weekend, the Dutchman spoke on his Instagram account.

« After recent events, I decided to take some time for myself, away from social media, which I will continue to do, indicates in the preamble the world champion of Formula E 2020-2021.

I would like to thank Red Bull and Team AlphaTauri for giving me the opportunity to live my dream. Of course it hurts that the chance to run in F1 that I had dreamed of for so long came to an untimely end. But life is not a destination, it is a journey, and sometimes you have to take difficult paths to get there.

I am grateful for our privileged lives, proud of my journey and my family. This is just another experience, we move forward and look forward to the next chapter.

I thank everyone for the kind and encouraging messages you sent me last week. It warms my heart to feel your support. »

Nyck de Vries concluded his message with a denial regarding comments that were wrongly associated with him by certain media as well as on social networks: “ I got a few interesting articles about things I said last week. For clarity, I have not spoken to any media outlets and am going to enjoy my time off. I wish you all a great summer. »
