It's now official: Esteban Ocon will ride at Haas in 2025 and beyond. The Norman therefore leaves Alpine after five years with the French team. The announcement being made ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, the French driver was inevitably invited to answer a few questions about his future team.

« I can not wait to be there, said Ocon about his upcoming transfer. It's obviously great to finally be able to talk about it. This is an exciting challenge that awaits us. The team is on an upward trajectory right now and they want to continue that momentum. »

« Haas is a team of competitors, they want to improve, judges the Tricolor. They have big plans to improve the situation they find themselves in. They're already doing it right now. It's exciting, it's a new challenge for me, which I'm looking forward to. Just like riding with Ollie (Bearman), she’s an exciting young prospect. »

Ocon will necessarily act as an experienced driver against the young Bearman, who will compete in his first season in F1 in 2025. " I don't think Ollie needs my help on anything, judges Ocon, however. He will probably have more experience with the team than me next year. He drove a lot in FP1, I will probably ask him a lot more things! »

Concerning the multi-year contract in question with the American team, according to our information it is a two-year lease plus one optional. The Frenchman could therefore potentially find himself linked to Haas until 2027.

This is not the first time that Esteban Ocon will work with Ayao Komatsu. The two men know each other from the Lotus days, when the new recruit first got into an F1 car 10 years ago. At the time, the Japanese was the engineer of Romain Grosjean.
