This time it's the right one! In pole position for the fourth time in his career, Lando Norris managed to convert it into a victory, his second in his career after that in Miami last May.

However, things got off to a bad start for the Englishman, still in trouble when the lights went out, seeing Max Verstappen steal the lead of the race at the first turn. But the pilot McLaren did not lose his nerve and quietly planned his return to business. And when he came back into the exhausts of his Dutch friend on the 8th lap, he simply put him down. There was then no more suspense, Lando Norris taking the checkerboard with more than 20 seconds in advance and as a bonus the point for the best lap in the race, in the last. Pole, victory, best lap… A perfect weekend in short.

« It's awesome, smiled-he. I wouldn't say it's a perfect race because of that first lap, again. But behind it it was magnificent. The pace was very strong, the car was incredible in the end. I felt very comfortable and I could push which allowed me to overtake Max. That was the most important element. From there, I was able to escape and then had a smooth race even if it was difficult. It's nice.

I knew pretty early on that I could win this race. I expected Max to push and create a gap around laps 5-6-7 but he never did. From that moment on, I knew we were in a good position to fight. Finally, he let go and my pace continued to improve. Inside the car it was very comfortable because I looked clean and I could push. » With this success, Lando Norris takes 8 points from Max Verstappen to return to 70 points.

Almost the perfect "hat trick" for Norris because his start was missed and he did not lead the entire Grand Prix. But it was a great feat to beat Verstappen consistently in his home garden!
