Sergio Perez: Chicano and chicanery in Mexico!

All the conditions were met for Sergio Perez to have the good Mexican Grand Prix that his fans were waiting for and that he needed to give his season a bit of a boost and consolidate his position within the team. Red Bull. Better, engine problems of Verstappen Friday had put him at the center of the house chessboard, with the engineers counting on him to do the bulk of the work.

If we remember the racist remarks made by Marko about the South Americans, and that Horner was delighted that he understood that his place was to finish 2nd behind Verstappen, we can imagine the fulfilling atmosphere he has experienced in recent seasons. Not to mention that he was not listened to when the car showed its first signs of weakness. And the fact that Verstappen compensated for them with his driving led the team to the impasse it is in today (and Max to the extremes of track incorrectness). When we look at how Ferrari and McLaren pamper their 2nd drivers, it is not surprising that these teams are ahead of RBR in the constructors' championship... The Verstappen phenomenon has led RBR down a very bad slope in driver management, if we also look at how they treat the young drivers in their own sector, like Kleenex. If he is entrusted with Perez's car, Lawson should be very careful with this poisoned chalice...

We are still very, very far from the driver who won in Qatar with a Racing Point! It is as if, since his invaluable help to Max for the 2021 title, he has, since then, only regressed, except for one or two flashes of brilliance here and there. This driver is a real enigma to me, notwithstanding the fact that RBR develops cars that are "undriveable" by any driver other than Max. I think RBR has a responsibility in the sense that they consider the second driver as an extra and do not do much to provide him with a car that suits him. They are paying dearly for it this year in the constructors' championship.

TexMex did everything wrong right from qualifying, not to mention his stolen start by a few meters on Sunday. Maybe he was looking at the giant screen when he got on the grid! Then accusing a driver from the same employer when he tried to play like Verstappen is pathetic. How long will Red Bull make this torture last? Let's bet that another missed weekend at Interlagos will exempt him from the Las Vegas / Qatar / Abu Dhabi triple header, even if we can think that dropping him 3 Grand Prix from the end will not change much in the quest for the Constructors' title that will elude Red Bull Racing this year!
