Pit stop problem finally resolved for Sauber?

There was better for Sauber in Australia, at least on the track, but still not on the side of the stands. Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell retired, this offered 3 places in the points to the teams, which, normally, cannot enter. In this little game, it's the two Haas et Yuki tsunoda who won. Valtteri Bottas has long been in the battle for points but unfortunately for the Finn, all his efforts were ruined by a 31-second stoppage from his team.

This problem in the pits has persisted for Sauber since the start of the season. Of the 10 stops made during the first three meetings, the Swiss team made only one stop under 3 seconds (2'77) and there were three which were longer than 20 seconds... It is therefore difficult to grab the points when we waste just as much time changing four tires.

The race pace seems correct for the C44 which is in the match with the other teams at the back of the grid. There is only one thing left to do to hope for the first points: spend less time in the pits. “We head to Japan with the aim of capitalizing on an encouraging race pace shown in previous races, explains Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Sauber representative. New modifications for the C44

Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guangyu are turning to Japan and Suzuka with the desire to enter the top 10 for the first time. They will perhaps be helped by a C44 which arrives with new parts. “It’s always great to race at Suzuka, it’s one of the most iconic circuits on the calendar, enthuses the Finn. I have good memories here, including a victory (in 2019, editor’s note). We’re making improvements here, so I’m really looking forward to getting back on the track to take a big step forward.” 

Same story for his Chinese teammate who arrives in the land of the Rising Sun with very good intentions: “I want to have a good race here. We know that there is still a lot of work to do, on and off the track. An important positive point was that our race pace in Australia seemed competitive. If we manage to place ourselves well on the grid, we have a chance to grab the points! »
