Two years after its announcement, the RB17 saw the light of day at Goodwood where Red Bull finally lifted the veil on its first “production” car.

It is in the beautiful setting of the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​that Red Bull decided to make his big presentation. As Porsche two years ago with its 963, entered today in WEC, the Austrian team arrived with its own heavy weaponry: the RB17.

Fruit of the designs of the genius Adrian Newey, this RB17 is the first Hypercar and at the same time production car from Red Bull. But it doesn't have much of a production car.

To put it simply, the RB17 is an F1 approved for everyday use. However, it's difficult to imagine someone using a car that draws on Red Bull's 20 years of experience in everyday life. Formula 1. Resting on a two-seater carbon fiber monocoque chassis, the Anglo-Austrian Hypercar is equipped with a central rear naturally aspirated V10 engine going up to 15 rpm.


The power of this V10 is transmitted to the rear axle via a carbon fiber gearbox. On the scale, this machine weighs less than 900 kilos for 1 hp, or 200 grams per horse. According to estimates given by Red Bull, the RB750 “ displays lap times equivalent to those of F1 » and a top speed that can exceed 350 km/h while remaining “ easy to master ».

Note that Red Bull Advanced Technologies will take care of the entire production process for each of the 50 examples planned. Each customer will be able to live a complete experience with different on-track events on circuits around the world. Moreover, " Each RB17 will be personalized, with customers able to specify everything from exterior paint color to interior materials and a whole host of small details"
