What a performance by Yuki tsunoda during the Brazilian GP qualifying! The Japanese driver took a sublime 3rd place at the end of a very complicated session, in the rain and interrupted by five red flags. It's simple: this is his best qualifying since his debut in Formula 1, in 2021! In tricky conditions, the Racing Bulls driver managed to maintain his car on the track, despite a few scares, and to set a magnificent final time in the final moments of Q3.

A second row that feels good and comes at an excellent time for Yuki Tsunoda and Racing Bulls. For the Japanese driver, it is a golden opportunity to show his worth to the clan Red Bull, still undecided about the second seat in the mother team. For the Italian team, this double qualification in Q3 – with the 5th place of Liam Lawson – is a dream opportunity to score big points and recover 6th place in the Constructors' championship against Haas, whose two cars were eliminated in Q1.
Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls), 3rd in qualifying in Brazil : “It was very difficult, but I enjoyed it! I think we had a good rhythm straight away, I made a few mistakes but I was also a bit lucky. Overall, as a team with Liam [Lawson, 5th] as well, we did a very good job.”
“This track is one of the trickiest: when you gain confidence and start pushing, you have big crashes like we saw with several cars today. I had a big scare, but fortunately I was far from the barriers. It’s a track where you really want to get your lap right. I feel better than [Saturday], the car is good. I think we have a good pace in the rain, it’s a good position to start this afternoon.”
(On the battle with Haas in the Constructors' Championship) "We're just behind sixth place held by Haas, so we definitely need to catch them. This is one of the moments where we want to maximise that opportunity. We'll do our best to score as many points as possible."
