There's that little something extra. That intangible quality that defines a champion. Aura, charisma… There are countless synonyms to describe a phenomenon that's felt more than measured. Max VerstappenThis magnetism spreads around him. Whether he's competing in his first GT3 race at the Nürburgring mid-season, a round of sim racing with his friends on a weekend or a Grand Prix that could see him join the icon Juan Manuel Fangio (5 titles) at the top

Max's best performance proved insufficient for a fifth consecutive title, which would certainly have been the most impressive! It remains to be seen whether he will secure a fifth, depending primarily on the RB22/Ford partnership and also on the Dutchman's patience, as he might well leave F1 at the end of 2026 without wanting to go through Aston Martin, Ferrari, or Mercedes!

As for five consecutive titles, that's a bust, and probably a permanent miss, because winning four titles in a row will now be difficult in a career. Given that the first one wasn't entirely uncontested, it's probably for the best. And we've seen that Red Bull made a mistake by building everything around him: he's not an engineer and probably not the best development driver, yet that's essential for winning a title. Furthermore, this strategy is somewhat suicidal, as it has created a void around him: Newey, Honda, Horner, Marko—all potential successors. Four titles, yes, but at what cost? And on top of that, the worst reputation on the grid for him and Red Bull in every respect.

It's true that he's not the best driver... but a good one, who unfortunately too often displays "delicacy" behind the wheel towards others... Which has never been the case for Lando; he's a clean driver, unlike him! Max is going to start finding himself in positions he can't stand, with all the newcomers who don't give a damn and are also racing to win! Furthermore, the Red Bull/Ford partnership remains to be seen... I read in a Japanese magazine that it was Honda who didn't want to continue with Red Bull because of their poor track record, which was highlighted too often...
