The manufacturer of the Formula 1, Pirelli, has revealed the different possible strategies for the Italian GP. According to the Italian supplier, the teams are expected to opt for a one-stop strategy at Monza. However, due to the new asphalt and the high temperatures in Lombardy this weekend, a two-stop option could also be considered if the degradation is higher than expected.

According to Pirelli, the drivers have three strategic options, all without the Soft tyres which should logically be abandoned this Sunday due to their rapid wear. In the event of a start on Mediums, the first stop should come around lap 22 for a one-stop strategy, or around lap 14 for a two-stop strategy. In both cases, it would be to switch to Hards and, for the 2nd option, the 2nd stop would come around lap 33 to finish the race on new Hards. Finally, Pirelli is also proposing another one-stop strategy for the Italian GP with a start on Hards and a pit stop around lap 30 to switch to Mediums.

Regarding the remaining sets of tires for the Italian GP, all drivers except the Aston Martin, Sauber and Yuki tsunoda, have at least one new set of Hard and Medium tyres in reserve. All eight drivers from the four Top Teams have the same remaining allocation, i.e. two sets of new Hards and one set of new Mediums. Drivers eliminated before Q3 also have at least one set of unused Soft tyres available but these are not expected to be used in the race.

As a reminder, Pirelli brought the softest tires in its range to Italy on the Monza track: the C3 (hard), the C4 (medium) and the C5 (soft).
