The manufacturer of the Formula 1, Pirelli, revealed the different possible strategies for the Saudi Arabian GP. According to the Italian supplier, the teams are expected to opt for a one-stop strategy in Jeddah, due to the low degradation observed on the Corniche circuit, despite fairly high temperatures this weekend (around 30°C). However, according to Pirelli, we should not really see the soft tires in action during the race, even if they showed good resistance in qualifying with drivers who were able to improve their time on their second fast lap.

For the Saudi Arabian GP, Pirelli is offering no fewer than four different possible strategies, including three one-stop strategies and a single two-stop strategy for the more adventurous. These are ranked from fastest to least effective, according to Pirelli.

  • Strategy #1 at a stop : Start on Medium tires, stop around the 19th lap to put on Hard tires.
  • Strategy #2 at a stop : Start on Hard tires, stop around the 31st lap to put on Medium tires.
  • Two-Stop Strategy #3 : Start on Medium tires, first stop around the 13th lap to put on Hard tires, second stop around the 31st lap to put on Hard tires.
  • Strategy #4 at a stop : Start on Soft tires, stop around the 13th lap to put on Hard tires.

Regarding the remaining sets of tires for the Saudi Arabian GP, all drivers – with the exception of the Aston Martin – still have at least one unused set of Medium and Hard tires. The drivers of the four Top Teams (McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes et Red Bull) have the same tyre capital, namely two new sets of Hard tyres and one unused set of Medium tyres. Regarding the Soft tyres, only the drivers who were eliminated before Q3 (and Lando Norris, who had an accident in Q3) still have new tires available.

As a reminder, Pirelli brought the softest tires in its range to Saudi Arabia for the Jeddah circuit: the C3 (hard), the C4 (medium) and the C5 (soft).
