Once again, the German team HRT will field two Ford Mustang GT3s during the 2026 season. DTMThis time, it's the Evo models, introduced to competition this year. Indian driver Arjun Maini, a Ford factory driver, continues the adventure with the same team as last year, for his sixth season in DTM.

Maini finished fifteenth in the 2025 championship with two fifth-place finishes as his best results, at the Norisring and the Red Bull Ring. His teammate Fabio Scherer had finished 23rd and second to last among the drivers who scored points in the championship.

He will also be replaced by another rookie in the championship, the German Finn Wiebelhaus. While he will celebrate his 20th birthday on March 5th, Wiebelhaus will discover the DTM, fresh from winning the ADAC GT Masters title in 2025, already driving a Ford Mustang GT3 for the Haupt Racing Team.

"I am delighted to be driving the Ford Mustang GT3 for HRT Ford Racing in DTM.", says Wiebelhaus, who is also a development driver at Ford. “Since childhood, I’ve always dreamed of racing in this category. The fact that this dream is about to come true means more to me than words can express. After winning the ADAC GT Masters and the Road to DTM competition, this promotion to DTM feels like a just reward for all these years of hard work and numerous sacrifices, but also for my self-confidence. I’m ready to do everything in my power to achieve good results and make this an unforgettable season.”

With the evolution of the Mustang GT3, HRT expects to be fighting at the front in 2026, as explained by Ulrich Fritz, its managing director: “We are highly motivated and have meticulously prepared for the new DTM season. Arjun Maini brings continuity to the team. He understands the challenges of the DTM and plays a vital role in our ongoing efforts to develop the Ford Mustang GT3 Evo and improve as a team. Finn Wiebelhaus has great potential and deserves his place on the DTM grid thanks to his outstanding performances. I am confident that we will achieve strong results together in 2026.”
