Already present in DTM In 2025, Comtoyou Racing will continue its program in the discipline with strong ambitions. Last year, the team, led by Nicolas Baert, secured a pole position at Hockenheim and three top-10 finishes in its debut season. In 2026, the objective is clearly to take the next step.
Official driver Aston MartinNicki Thiim joins the team as its star driver. The Dane is a two-time FIA world champion. WEC GT, category winner at 24 Hours of Le MansAt the 24 Hours of Spa and the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, he will thus realize a long-held dream. His father, Kurt Thiim, was one of the major figures in the DTM in the 1980s, notably winning the title in 1986. Already a DTM winner – at the Norisring in 2024 – Thiim had never before competed in a full season in the championship with a manufacturer he officially represents.
« Racing in DTM has always been a personal goal. explains Nicki Thiim. When the championship switched to GT3, I immediately wanted to represent Aston Martin. Wearing these colors in such an intense and competitive championship is something very special for me. "Alongside him, Nicolas Baert is retained for a second consecutive season. The 24-year-old Belgian intends to capitalize on the experience accumulated in 2025, in a championship renowned for its demanding sprint races, contested solo in one-hour formats."
« We learned a great deal last year, Baert confides. We now know the car, the circuits, the tires, and how the championship works. Being able to benefit from Nicki's experience is a major asset for progressing in 2026. "An official partner of Aston Martin Racing since 2024, Comtoyou Racing has quickly established itself as one of the benchmarks of European GT racing, notably with a historic success at Spa – Aston Martin's first in GT3 – and a Sprint Cup Silver title in the GT World Challenge Europe last season.
The DTM, Germany's most popular GT championship, will offer an eight-round calendar for sixteen races in 2026, with a grid featuring at least seven major manufacturers. More than 500,000 spectators attended the events in 2025, confirming the series' continued appeal.
