He couldn't have dreamed of a better start to Saturday. In qualifying, Marcus Amand took both pole positions, earning him two extra points in the championship. This allows the CLRT team Schumacher to virtually count fourteen points more than Mathys Jaubert (Martinet by Alméras).
However, the Franco-Finnish driver did not dominate from start to finish. At the end of the first stint, the 2024 PCCF rookie champion was far from the lead: " It was difficult at first. I didn't have much feeling with the first set of tires. I wasn't sure why. I had to do an extra lap compared to the others because one of my times had been canceled. The team only had three minutes to make adjustments before the final push.
Off-track on strategy, Marcus Amand came out into traffic and had to find his way between the Gentlemen. At the end of the start/finish straight, he locked his right front wheel. not yet ready for exploitation. There were then two rounds left to avoid any major setbacks in the title race. There was stress because my chances of doing well were slim. When I crossed the line, I thought I was fifth or sixth. I was very surprised to know that I had both pole positions because the sensations weren't crazy. Sometimes it happens and it's positive."
As we head into the race, the championship leader knows he has a good car with which to " we just have to conclude." The first line shared with Mathys Jaubert will have the appearance of the French Cup karting in Val d'Argenton in 2015.
