Romain Dumas is on the move! After a very successful Dakar 2024 on a Toyota Hilux, then the 24 Hours of Daytona with a Porsche in GTP, the Frenchman will take the plane again to spend two weeks in Australia to drive the electric Ford SuperVan 4.2.
The jack of all trades will indeed be present in Bathurst on the sidelines of the 12 Hours (February 15-18), then the launch of the Supercars season the following weekend (February 23-25) for demonstrations of the super-powerful 1 horsepower electric prototype.
“Driving the SuperVan 4.2 is always a huge privilege and after the successful outing at Pikes Peak (2nd place overall), I am delighted that the Ford Performance team continues to find new and exciting ways to push the limits,” said Romain Dumas. For any racing driver, Bathurst is a unique and exhilarating challenge and I look forward to giving the Australian fans a show they will hopefully never forget. »
Will Romain Dumas try to break a record on the legendary Mont Panorama route, 6,213 km long? To date, the official record is held by Christopher Mies aboard an Audi R8 LMS GT3 in 1'59''291 (set on November 16, 2018). In the electric vehicle category, it is the Audi RS e-tron GT which holds the advantage in 2'28''15, a lap achieved on the sidelines... of the 12 Bathurst 2023 Hours.
