La nouvelle Toyota The GT3 has finally been revealed. After months of unofficial testing, photos, and videos, the Japanese brand's new challenger is finally known. The Japanese manufacturer shared the first official images of the car, as well as its road-going version, the GR GT, on Wednesday morning, December 5th.
Their development, from the initial vehicle design, was conducted using a collaborative approach under the leadership of Akio Toyoda, aka Master Driver Morizo, president of TMC. Professional drivers Tatsuya Kataoka, Hiroaki Ishiura, and Naoya Gamou, amateur driver Daisuke Toyoda, and in-house test drivers worked closely with the engineers. The GR GT is characterized by a driver-centric approach, focused on listening to, understanding, and meeting the driver's needs. The GR GT3, a race car derived from the GR GT, was also developed using this methodology.

The Toyota GR GT3 is still in development
The GR GT3 incorporates the three key elements of the GR GT from which it is derived: a low center of gravity, reduced weight combined with high rigidity, and a constant pursuit of aerodynamic performance. Compliant with the FIA GT3 specifications, the premier category of customer motorsport competitions based on production vehicles, it aims to be both high-performing and accessible to all.

Toyota Gazoo Racing believes that its "driver first" principle, just as essential for the GR GT, is equally important for the GT3 category, which brings together both professional and gentleman drivers. In addition to improving the competitiveness of the GR GT3, TGR is implementing an optimal support system for its driver clients, enabling them to fully enjoy motorsport.
The Toyota GR GT3 is expected to succeed the aging Lexus RC GT3 in competition, but the latter still has some battles to fight on the track. The Japanese firm indicates that development of its new car is still underway, with a launch planned for around 2027.
