Aurore Louison is no novice in motorsport. In 30 years of racing, she has used tires in autocross, slalom, karting, in hill climbing, but also in Andros TrophyShe has ridden the Dijon-Prenois circuit a few times, but until recently she had never ridden in a LameraThanks to Wilfried Merafina, the promoter of the promotional cut, and Morgan Riche, the boss of RM Concept, it now has one more color in its wide palette. And that color is pink, like… Pink October.
"Initially, it was Aurélie Maingre who should have taken the wheel of this racing car.", recalls Aurore. “At 44, she lost her battle with illness on August 8th. Aurélie was a huge fan of the Lamera Cup. She dreamed of building an all-female team. When I got behind the wheel of the car, I was very emotional. In my pocket, I had a stuffed animal we had bought together in Dubai. I'm sure Aurélie was with me throughout this test.”
A conclusive test, clearly. “I knew the Dijon-Prenois circuit, but I had never driven such a powerful car there. With 330 hp for 1,020 kg, the Lamera's acceleration is astounding. This very torquey engine is a real treat. I was also impressed by the overall balance of the car and in particular by the lateral grip. Very effective, these standard Continental tires! And I was far from getting the most out of the car. I usually do hill climbs, where the effort is very intense but short, but I'm no longer used to endurance events. If I want to get involved in the Lamera Cup, I'll have to work on this aspect.”
Aurore was also very pleasantly surprised by the welcome given that day to people discovering the Lamera Cup. "Morgan (Rich, the boss of RM Concept, Editor's note) first gave us a lot of explanations on how the car works before the briefing led by the organizer of this day. What's great is that I benefited from the advice of a coach throughout my test. I hadn't put a tire on in Dijon for a long time, so that was very useful to me."
Several initiatives linked to Pink October
Very concerned by the campaign to raise awareness among women about breast cancer detection, Aurore Louison is also involved in L. Competition. “This non-profit association was created three years ago. It exists to promote and develop motorsport among women. Not just to get them to become drivers or co-drivers. We focus on all aspects of competition: you can become a mechanic, engineer, team manager, logistician, track marshal… We are setting up a whole network of partners and a communication system to answer questions or queries from young girls or women about the different disciplines.”
And in the middle of Pink October, Aurore and her friends set up the operation Full throttle. " For the third year, we will be organizing a day of track baptisms to raise funds for cancer research. It will take place on Sunday, October 26, at the Pouilly-en-Auxois circuit, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. During the first edition, 11 female drivers were present. There were 16 last year, and this time, we should increase to 30 drivers. In 2024, more than 200 track baptisms have been organized. A great wave of solidarity has been created around this day. We have the support of local authorities, the union of traders, the communities of communes, and the circuit. It's a very nice meeting.
Please note: the Lamera Cup, which will be stopping in Dijon this weekend, will also be conducting a Pink October campaign. A car will be flying the colors of this initiative, supported by Air France flight attendants and nurses from a Dijon hospital.
