Lamera Cup – Sarah Cayrolle: “Daddy is never far away”

Eric Cayrolle's daughter is playing the full season in the Lamera Cup for the first time. Usually, the young lady benefits from the advice of her very experienced dad. Which, however, is absent from the 1 Hours of Portimão.

«My father recently had surgery, explains Sarah. The operation went very well and he began his convalescence in a clinic in Toulouse.

For the first time in my young career, he is not by my side. I admit that at the start of the weekend, it was a rather strange feeling to ride without teaming up with him. Fortunately, we often communicate between the relays.

Dad is never far away. Being the enthusiast that he is, he follows the race very carefully via the internet. I am also lucky to be able to count on wonderful teammates who are not shy of advice. »

Five hours before the end of the 26 Hours of Portimão, the number 71 CTF Performance Lamera was in 10th place.

« One of us took a trip to a gravel trap overnight, specifies the young woman. We also lost a little time in the pits because of a stone blocking the brake pedal.

For the rest, the car runs like clockwork. Fingers crossed that the mechanics are reliable all the way to the checkered flag. For the moment, we occupy 2nd place in the ProAm championship standings. We hope to end the weekend with a good performance in terms of points gleaned. »
