After a furious start to the season at the Magny-Cours circuit, the Lamera Cup sets up shop this weekend at the formidable MotorLand Aragón track, well known to fans of MotoGP.
After Friday's track day, which was very useful for getting a feel for this ultra-technical track, it's time for qualifying this Saturday morning.
Warm-up before the 4-hour race
In this unique qualifying session, remember that three drivers per car are allotted a slot on the track. The starting grid is determined by adding up each driver's best time. As at Magny-Cours, Joffrey Dorchy (3TM #62), a key figure in qualifying for the 2025 season, set the pace. A great way to pave the way for his teammates Wilfried and Mattéo Merafina, who put together blistering laps to secure their second consecutive pole position of the season. Auto Leclerc #73, Milo Sens #82, and Mr Bricolage by RM #76 complete the top five. A top five for four Elite category cars? No, that's not a mistake, because the standout performance of the session came from a Pro/Am crew!
In this category, the best time went to the Lamera #29 Astonjet of Antonio Cristino, Charles Clair and Paul Levet, which placed third overall! And to complete this festival in the intermediate category, the #66 CTF XENItrans recorded the sixth fastest time to complete the top three rows.
In the Gentlemen's category, the #68 EMBLEMATIK By RM will start from 20th place on a grid of 27 cars. The first race of the weekend, a four-hour event, will start at 14:30 PM and can be followed live. Live Timing on the Lamera Cup Site.
